CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  2. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
  3. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; AND
  • One (1) year of professional administrative experience or related field.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

  • Research, initiate and prepare official military discharge/separation documentation.
  • Write biographical summaries for all Soldiers in the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) who are retiring.
  • Assist with processing National Guard Report of Separation and Record of Service (NGB Form 22), Correction Form (NGB Form 22A) and Archival requests.
  • Provides guidance on Military regulations and on internal controls.
  • Prepares all certificates and retirement flag boxes for all retiring Soldiers in the FLARNG and sends them to their home of record (HOR).
  • Responsible for ensuring all documents related to the Soldier and agency are scanned and properly indexed in the State Archives database, Soldiers IPERMS file and prepares certificates.
  • Provides documents to Service Members upon request.
  • Performs necessary research and answers written, telephonic and email inquiries.
    Communicates extensively with various departments within the agency as well as outside agencies regarding statutory requirements relative to HIPAA, Privacy Act, FOIA and National Guard Regulations.
  • Compiles and calculates Military data to determine deficiencies within associated documentation and submits to appropriate department for correction.
  • Responsible for maintaining manual and electronic inventories as well as statistical records.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
