Summary:
The Account Manager is responsible for assisting the department with underwriting projects.
They will be expected to quickly learn the insurance systems used by McGowan in order to be successful.
Tasks will be centered around excess liability underwriting facilities.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Participates with the underwriter in the renewal and new business activities that support underwriting decisions that are consistent with Division or Department growth and retention goals.
Prepares underwriting/pricing exhibits (i.
e.
, Account Summaries, Loss Runs, Internet Research, Rate Sheets).
Enters, manages, and manipulates data in various Agency Management systems and online tools (including C1 and proprietary carrier web portals).
Partners with the underwriter to establish support needs (i.
e.
, identify/gather relevant account information to quote and/or bind) for new and renewal business.
Assures all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with the MEC team.
Provides support within established performance standards.
Uses EPIC, C1, Encompass, or other systems to keep account information accurate.
Manages account documentation (i.
e.
, Account Clearance, Acknowledgement Letters, Underwriting Documentation, Closing Letters).
Submit file to Underwriting Queue when ready for full underwrite.
Review and sign off conditions, as applicable.
Keep current on changing underwriting guidelines and company guidelines.
Review initial submission against checklist of minimum required submission documents, as applicable.
Participates in projects/assignments as needed.

Education &
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).

years of insurance industry experience (preferred).
