Summary:
The Development Manager will have direct responsibility for developing renewable energy projects, to include but not limited to solar, battery storage, and emerging technology projects.
This position has development responsibility over projects in a variety of markets including but not limited to:
PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SERC and SPP.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with knowledge of these markets; proven project development and transaction experience; strong communication skills and financial acumen; and an ability to drive complex deals to closure.
Duties/Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Real Estate:
Manages land control agreements, easements, ALTA/survey, title issues, and landowner relations.
Drives the development of renewable energy projects by ensuring land is under control and appropriate agreements are in place.
Permitting:
Manages all 3rd party consultants involved in environmental studies, securing permits, and fieldwork.
Evaluates all potential project sites for any required permits or environmental studies, CWA, FAA, ESA, SHPO, NEPA, wetland surveys, water crossing issues, or any environmental or permitting concerns requiring local, state, or federal agency involvement.
Ensures all necessary permits are acquired and maintained for renewable energy projects.
Interconnection:
In collaboration with the Engineering team, the Development Manager oversees the process of interconnection by working on interconnection applications, following the process set forth by transmission providers, and ensuring projects flow through the interconnection queue.
Remains knowledgeable about interconnection processes for various energy markets.
Due Diligence:
Occasionally reviews information regarding potential acquisition projects, counterparties, or sites.

Responsibilities:
Assists with project budgets, reporting to stakeholders, and development milestone tracking.
Manages the proposal process for responses to RFPs.
Works in matrixed teams to request input from other departments and internal staff to drive development.
Required Skills/
Experience:
3
years of experience in solar and/or battery storage project development and installation, with a strong knowledge of PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and/or other power markets.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and business etiquette.
Demonstrated success in developing customer/partner relationships.
Proven success in building partnerships, working in teams, driving solutions, and managing projects.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in business, environmental studies, real estate, engineering, law, natural resources, or related fields preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with all audiences, including landowners, coworkers, executives, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Willingness to travel, as required, to project sites, meet with landowners, and represent the company at conferences.
The potential for travel is approximately 30%.
A successful candidate will need to work in matrixed groups and touch all departments.
Collaboration and problem-solving skills are required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds.
Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
