Augustine Society, Inc.
and its clients by assisting them in meeting their needs while creating and maintaining an environment that is consistent with agency values.
Youth Workers will be responsible for supervision and safety of the guests utilizing Port in the Storm services.
The Youth Worker will work directly with youth, case management, and supervisors to ensure youth participate in meaningful activities and development of independent life skills.
The Youth Worker will provide primary supervision for youth during their shift and will participate in or oversee household management activities as necessary.
The Youth Worker may also share after-hours on -call duties.
Successful candidates must have the ability to cover various shifts including weekends and holidays.
This position reports to the Program Manager.
Specific duties include the active safety supervision of agency clients and property, interaction with clients to meet basic needs, support for case managers, client related paperwork, general office duties, light housekeeping, and interaction with community service providers, donors, and volunteers.
Qualifications, Experience and Abilities:

and be driven by the mission of the organization with a commitment to working with persons in housing crisis and disconnected populations Minimum High School Diploma or GED required Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Services related field preferred Two years' experience working in Human Services working with one or more of the following:
individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health related issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, and with those living in poverty preferred Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries working with clients Ability and willingness to perform light housekeeping and occasional lifting to 30 pounds independently Ability to work independently or in a team Demonstrates a positive attitude, self-motivation, organization, and resourcefulness while maintaining a reputation through proven action of being team and client oriented and willing to assist where/when needed Ability to negotiate different personalities and work under competing priorities Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively Excellent written and verbal skills Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel required.
Experience with other applications as well as experience using and entering data into HMIS or other client databases preferred Knowledgeable about issues facing homeless youth and an understanding of the experiences they are going through Previous training and experience in crisis intervention and/or conflict mediation CPR/First Aid/blood borne pathogens certification required Full understanding of Mandated Reporting requirements Accepts and implements feedback Professionally collaborates with community partners Must pass Level II background check Must pass drug screen Must be prompt and dependable Essential Duties and Responsibilities Creates and maintains an environment that values diversity and is free of discrimination Assists clients in advocating for their needs, including assistance locating resources and navigating systems Builds and maintains consistent, healthy boundaries with program participants Utilizes a strengths-based approach working with youth in day-to-day provision of services to hard-to-reach or hard-to-engage populations Maintains safety and supervision of all youth in the drop-in and shelter program at all times Implements core principles and evidence based practices including but not limited to:
Positive Youth Development, Trauma Informed Care, Person-Centered Planning Participates in Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data collection activities Provides independent living and life skills training to youth ad documents these events Oversees all program activities such as conducting routine facility and bed checks to ensure safety and privacy of all guests Documents and updates guest or program information in the appropriate logs or forms by the end of each shift Provides consistent coverage for assigned shifts, working within the team and independently to complete all shift tasks Delivers services with safety, respect and effectiveness Receives new clients, completes intake paperwork, creates proper client files and orients new clients to agency services and policies Provides services and supports in accordance with clients' Individual Service Plan Enforces agency policies and follows staff policies and procedures Maintains order and assists in keeping all assigned areas clean and free of spills, trash and safety hazards Receives and puts away donations received during shift Assists in room/dorm cleaning and house laundry as assigned Provides immediate and professional response to any security/safety emergency or disturbance within or immediately outside facility Maintains written and oral communication of incidents in accordance with policies Reports any problems to the Program Manager Attends staff meetings and participates in activities designated by the Program Manger/Operations Manager/Executive Director Performs all other duties as assigned Job Type:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
