Medical Technologist License in Florida Required:
One year of hospital laboratory experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology Reviews all reference test orders.
Is capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify a Supervisor or Director Monitors turnaround time through pending or outstanding lists.
Resolves any exceptions and informs Supervisor and or reference laboratory of any discrepancies or issues.
Researches tests requested by physicians that are not on current test menu for all test requirements related to reference testing.
Ensures all specimen preparation is followed according to specifications of reference laboratory.
Creates manifests as needed for reference tests.
Accept and electronically receive laboratory specimens of blood, body fluids, urine, stool and swabs etc.
for all sections of the laboratory.
Enter test results as needed in the laboratory information system accurately and promptly.
Documents and calls all critical values to a Health Care provider.
Helps monitor inventory/supplies and informs Supervisor when ordering is needed.
Experience Required 1 year(s):
Hospital Laboratory experience Licenses & Certifications Required Medical Technologist.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
